Energy is fundamental for every action we can image: we use energy 24/7. Without energy there could be no life. So why do we still use an “old” energy which is about to run out and endangers our planet? It is time to change, and it would be such a beautiful and advantageous change that we will not regret it. Try to believe it!

Nicola Armaroli is a CNR Research Director and a member of the Italian National Academy of Sciences. He is Fellow of the Royal Society of Chemistry (FRSC), associate editor of Photochemical & Photobiological Sciences, and member of the Editorial Board of Chemistry-A European Journal and Polyhedron. He is elected member of the Executive Board of the European Chemical Society (EuChemS) and serves as director of Sapere, the first Italian science periodical. Among several recognitions, he was awarded the Gold Medal Enzo Tiezzi of the Italian Chemical Society in 2017 and the Ravani Pellati Prize for Chemistry of the Torino Academy of Sciences in 2019.
